Everybody wants to wear a cat dress (well, me anyway)

Last Monday, the weather was absolutely miserable, cold and wet, work was stressful, I was in a bad mood… Until I came home for lunch (I know, how continental) and opened the parcel left by Mr Postman.

I tried this little beauty on, the sun shone for a while, and I was happy again.
Moral of the story: if you’re feeling down, wear a cat print dress- even just for a little while.

I know, it’s just a summer dress with cats printed on it. I probably won’t be able to wear it that much since we seem to have moved into Winter overnight. But it’s a great dance to go dancing- so light and just floaty enough that you don’t end up showing too much flesh ๐Ÿ˜‰

I found this dress on eBay for a tenner, I was actually looking for this Mango dress:

Notice the difference in modelling skills between Miss Johansson and myself. Not exactly the same league, is it?

And in the end I got a bit obsessed and found another long sleeved version, perfect for Autumn (and winter with a warm cardi). But more on that in another post.

I know animal prints have been around for a while. I admit that until now, I managed to stay away from them- you know, the swallows, the foxes, the octopuses, and now the owls. I can’t wait to see what comes next- my bet is on wild boars. Wouldn’t they look awesome on a dress?

(I am joking, but wouldn’t be surprised at all if this took off. I mean, you see girls wearing these horrible t-shirts with horses or dolphins on them, which were already tacky in the 90s- a very forgiving decade for tack).

  1. I love the dress! You look great ๐Ÿ™‚

You forgot wolves’ t-shirts, they’re horrible too… It always makes me think of Johnny Halliday’s fans haha :D.

I have a dress with birds ๐Ÿ™‚ and I’m kinda into owls (mostly for jewlerry). I can’t resist. ^^

    • Ah the wolves t-shirts… with a naked lady sitting on a motorbike in the moonlight… True work of art.

I once saw a massive cross-stitch of Johnny Hallyday in France. The Johnny Hallyday merchandise is outstanding in its tackyness (although I admit I do own a Johnny Hallyday mug. My sister bought it for me one Christmas “so that I do not forget about France and what it has to offer best”. And then I wonder why people don’t come back round for a cup of tea!!!)

Until this winter I didn’t really wear prints, apart from dogtooth and tartan, which are all favourites. But it’s changing now!!!

  2. I much prefer your cat dress over the mango one! And I think you struck quite a ‘modelish’ pose in the second photo… a side career perhaps? ๐Ÿ˜‰ I am a redhead and I used to wear leopard prints in the 90’s … until someone said I looked like Ginger from Gilligan’s Island. :O
